PLNs

The four areas (affective, social, cognitive and identity) that I think is more relevant to me is cognitive. The most important thing that I learned from my PLN is that I learn by observing others. I'm more of a lurker on social media sites, I like other's thoughts and ideas, but I rarely share mines. However, I will share other people's stories or ideas. I like to connect with others, and I would like to start engaging more with other like-minded people.  The tool that I find most valuable for finding professional knowledge is LinkedIn because it allows me to access information that's relevant and  beneficial to me.  Furthermore, had the pleasure of doing the five-factor personality test, which was very thought-provoking. Introduction Post Greetings, My name is Ashantā. My major is Library and Information Science. I have a semester to go and I can earn my degree and pursue a career as a librarian.  I currently work at the Chicago Public Library and I have been employed with the City of Chicago for 17 years. I started out volunteering at the library when I was sixteen years old and was eventually recommended for hire. One reason I love working in the library is because the environment is so peaceful, and It was a safe haven for me as a young adult. Another reason I enjoy working in the library is because the job allows me to do what I’m great at and that’s helping others. I am very passionate about my work, I’m ambitious, driven and highly organized. I think a unique characteristic that I possess is determination and persistence. Furthermore, I love reading or listening to a good book in my spare time, traveling the world, and spending time with my family and friends. Most importan
